Terms and privacy policy

These terms form the agreement between you and EWA, and explain how we handle your personal data. We have kept the language as plain as we can while staying precise.

Last updated 2 August 2026 · Version 1.0

Welcome to EWA. These terms (the "Agreement") form a legal agreement between you and Future Ventures I AB and govern your use of the EWA app, website and services (together, the "Services"). Please read them together with the privacy notice below. By creating an account or using the Services you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted this Agreement.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the Services you agree to be bound by this Agreement, the privacy notice set out below and any product-specific terms shown to you in the app, such as the Direct Debit (Autogiro) consent.

We may amend this Agreement from time to time. Material changes are communicated in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after that date means you accept the updated terms. The current version is always available at hiewa.app/terms.

2. About EWA

EWA is an earned wage access service. It lets you reach a share of the salary you have already earned in the current pay period, before your normal payday. It is not a loan, a credit product or a line of credit. You receive money you have already worked for.

EWA is a distinct business unit within Future Ventures I AB, org. no. 559501-0033, a company registered in Sweden with offices at Birger Jarlsgatan 57C, Stockholm. Because the product gives access to already-earned salary rather than credit, it falls outside the scope of the Swedish Consumer Credit Act (Konsumentkreditlagen 2010:1846). We charge no interest and perform no traditional credit check.

3. Eligibility and your account

To use the Services you must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • be resident in Sweden and hold a valid Swedish personal identity number;
  • be able to identify yourself with Swedish BankID;
  • hold a Swedish bank account in your own name; and
  • be employed by an employer connected to EWA and paid on a regular payroll schedule.

You may hold one account only. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date, and you are responsible for keeping your BankID and device secure. Any activity carried out with your BankID is treated as authorised by you.

4. How withdrawals work

You can request a withdrawal of up to 50% of the salary you have already earned in the current pay period, subject to a minimum amount and to any lower limit set by your employer. The available amount is calculated from the shift data supplied by your employer and is updated continuously in the app.

Payouts are sent to your bank account by Swish, normally within moments, or by standard bank transfer within one to three banking days. The fee is always shown before you confirm. There is no interest, no subscription and no hidden cost.

The full amount, withdrawal plus fee, is collected automatically from your bank account by Direct Debit on your regular payday. The exact collection date is shown in the app before you confirm the withdrawal.

5. Direct Debit (Autogiro) mandate

To use the Services you must approve a Direct Debit mandate to EWA through Bankgirot. The mandate authorises us to collect the amounts you owe from your nominated Swedish bank account. Its full terms are presented during setup and are governed by the general terms for Autogiro Consumers issued by Bankgirocentralen BGC AB.

You may revoke the mandate at any time by contacting us or your bank. Revoking it does not cancel amounts already due; you remain responsible for settling them by another method.

6. Your responsibilities and bank fees

You are responsible for making sure there are sufficient funds in your bank account on the collection date. Your bank, not EWA, controls when debits are posted and may charge overdraft or insufficient-funds fees if your account cannot cover the debit.

If a Direct Debit fails we retry within a few banking days and notify you. A statutory reminder fee of up to 60 kr may apply under the Swedish Act on Reminder Fees (Lag 1981:739). As a last resort an unpaid claim may be transferred to a licensed debt collection agency under the Debt Recovery Act (Inkassolagen 1974:182), which can affect your future creditworthiness. Please contact us as early as possible if you know your salary will be delayed. We would much rather find a solution together.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Services only for your own personal and lawful purposes. You may not use them fraudulently or unlawfully, give false information about your employment, identity or bank account, interfere with or overload the Services, reverse-engineer, copy or resell any part of them, or use them on behalf of another person without valid legal authorisation.

If we reasonably believe you have breached this Agreement, we may suspend or close your account, decline a withdrawal and take any other action available to us under law.

8. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time in the app or by emailing hello@hiewa.app. Closing an account is free and does not cancel an outstanding withdrawal; the pending Direct Debit will still be collected on the agreed date.

We may close or suspend your account if you breach this Agreement, if your employer ends their partnership with EWA, or if we are required to do so by law.

9. Intellectual property

All content in the Services, including text, design, graphics, logos, code and trademarks, belongs to Future Ventures I AB or its licensors and is protected by Swedish and international law. You receive a personal, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from any part of the Services without our prior written consent.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, EWA gives no warranty regarding uninterrupted availability, the accuracy of employer or bank data, or the timing of Swish and Autogiro transfers, all of which are controlled by third parties.

Nothing in this Agreement limits our liability for personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory Swedish law. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim connected to the Services is limited to the fees you paid to EWA in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

EWA does not provide financial, tax or legal advice. The Services help you manage cash flow between paydays and are not a substitute for professional advice.

11. Governing law and disputes

This Agreement is governed by Swedish law. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you may bring the matter before the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN, arn.se) or a Swedish general court. Nothing here affects your rights as a consumer under mandatory Swedish law.

12. Privacy notice

Future Ventures I AB is the data controller for personal data processed in the Services. We process the data you provide, such as your name, personal identity number, contact details, bank account and BankID authentication, together with data received from your employer, such as employment status, shifts and earned salary. We use it to deliver the Services, process withdrawals, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations and improve the product.

The legal bases under the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) are performance of a contract with you (Article 6.1.b), our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Services (Article 6.1.f) and compliance with legal obligations, in particular under the Swedish Accounting Act (Bokföringslagen 1999:1078) and the Anti-Money Laundering Act (Lag 2017:630) (Article 6.1.c).

Personal data is stored within the EU/EEA and shared only with the processors we need to run the Services: our cloud hosting provider, our BankID and Autogiro partners, Swish, our payroll integration partners and our customer support tools. Every processor is bound by a written data processing agreement.

13. Retention and your data rights

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and for up to seven years after closure, as required by Swedish bookkeeping rules. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability. Write to hello@hiewa.app to exercise any of these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se).

14. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary to keep the site secure and working; others help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then work less well.

15. Security

We use BankID for identification, encrypt data in transit and at rest, restrict internal access on a need-to-know basis and log access to sensitive systems. No service can promise absolute security, so if you suspect that your account has been used without your permission, contact us immediately at hello@hiewa.app.
